Our Work
We are a rights-based voluntary organization working in the areas of Mental Health and Disability since 2018. Focus areas of work include Awareness, Advocacy and Rehabilitation of persons with mental disabilities in north India.
Community Awareness: We use Webinars, workshops/sessions, informative articles and videos to assist in our learning and discussions.

Advocacy: Our advocacy strategy is to empower individuals to advocate for themselves. We ensure that the community owns the advocacy, and they view Pushpanjali Trust as supportive and stimulating rather than intruding or oppositional.
Psychosocial Counselling: In tough times it’s important to be heard. We support persons with mental illness and also talk to family members about their concerns. We then form an individual need based plan to support them.
Peer Support Network: We believe you don’t have to go through it alone. Mental health issues affect many of us and it helps to get connected. We help you form a peer support network as part of your recovery journey. This way you learn from others and find hope to get through this.
Caregivers support group: Caregivers faces a lot issues while giving best care to their dear ones and forget to think about themselves. Caregivers burden, depression, anxiety, loneliness, crying spells are most common issues faced by them. Webinars and individual sessions are held to deal with issues. Our aim to make them enable to get their rights as well as to help them to cope with their psychosocial issues.
Community Outreach program: We use a tailored method in which we visit families and encourage persons with mental illness to further develop their own personal resources, friendships and supports to overcome barriers they’re experiencing. We organize social activities that are held weekly.

Campaign for right to community living: We are assisting citizens in Tricity Chandigarh and neighboring states to get their constitutional right of community living for persons with mental disabilities. We had successfully held this campaign in Tricity Chandigarh. Now, we are also requesting Punjab and Haryana governments to provide this right to large number of persons with mental disabilities.
