Rehabilitation
We endeavour to empower persons with mental disabilities and their families by facilitating:
Guidance and Support: We discuss the concerns and challenges faced by persons with mental illnesses and their family members and then guide them to seek appropriate support and treatment.
Peer Support Network: We believe that persons with mental illnesses don’t have to continue suffering in isolation. Mental health issues affect many of us and it helps to get connected. We help individuals form a peer support network as part of their recovery journeys. This way people learn from each other and find support to get through their lives.
The pandemic was a debilitating experience for everyone. It was especially hard on young adults who are yet to find their space in the complex world of adulthood. The new emotional landscape can be daunting in the absence of guidance and peer support. Thus, Pushpanjali Trust decided to address this gap by starting a ‘young adults mental health program’ aimed at creating and providing a space for young adults to share, talk, question and learn about mental health and well-being through conversations and activities with peers. Read more about the program here.
Caregivers’ Support Group: Caregivers face a lot of issues. While providing care to their dear ones, they often forget to think about themselves. Caregiver burden, depression, anxiety, loneliness, crying spells are most common issues faced by them. Webinars and individual sessions are held to deal with these issues. Our aim is to enable them to get their rights as well as to help them cope with their psycho-social issues.

Recreational Activities: During the COVID phase, persons with mental illnesses were stuck at home mostly without a routine and very little social/ physical interaction. To beat the monotony and boredom, we have been organizing social musical gatherings in a beautiful public park (Fragrance Garden, Chandigarh) once a week. Due safety protocol is followed and people enjoy the live music and relax.
